About Russ Young

Russ Young was born in Sacramento, California, spent a few years in Florida and Alaska, then found himself back in Sacramento for college. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in American Literature, a degree which allowed him to teach English in Armenia for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer. It was in Armenia where he first developed his love for photography.  Once back in America, he earned a  teaching credential, took a few photography classes, and began teaching English at a high school in the Elk Grove School District.  “ I consider myself a part-time teacher and photographer, and I'm passionately-- some might say, ridiculously-- devoted to both.  I love what I do, whether it’s in front of a classroom or behind the viewfinder of a camera.  Life, to me, is about passion, and I have a passion for teaching and photography.”
